I’m proud to be a supporter of the LGBTQ community and I’m proud to be myself. I stood for approximately 8 hours, start to finish, during NYC’s Pride Parade, which was one of the most enjoyable and memorable experiences in my life because I’ve never seen such a large community unite for one occasion in order to illustrate solidarity. If the spirit of the parade wasn’t enough excitement for me, and it takes very little for me to get excited, majority of the “Orange is The New Black” cast appeared at the parade (see photo above). In addition to the cast, other celebrities like Edith Windsor walked alongside many different political figures, organizations, and companies in support of the LGBTQ community. Since it was a long day, my emotions and thoughts are still settling in my mind, so I don’t have the energy to elaborate. But I have one takeaway from today: Love has no labels.
